Direct Metering

Our direct customers are businesses that are high energy users.

Energy Brokers

We work with energy brokers and consultants to support you to provide a complete energy service to your customers. We deliver dedicated account management, flexible commercial terms and access to other value-added services.

Energy Retailers

We support energy retailers by providing smart metering services for your customers.  You will benefit from our transparent pricing, simple engagement processes and a dedicated account manager.

Embedded Networks

We offer flexible commercial arrangements, remote reading services and a dedicated account manager for all your embedded network smart metering requirements.

The process of working with us

1. Engagement & Contracting

Direct customers
Powermetric will assess your metering needs to find the right metering solution for your business. We will then negotiate a Direct Metering Agreement with you and once agreed, will liaise with your energy retailer to be appointed as your metering provider. Unless a different arrangement is agreed, your DMA charges will be included on your retail electricity bills. You will have a dedicated Powermetric account manager appointed to take care of all your smart metering needs.

Energy Brokers
Brokers can add Powermetric metering services to the services that they offer their customers by establishing a broker agreement with Powermetric. You will have a dedicated Powermetric account manager appointed to take care of all your customers' smart metering needs.

Energy Retailers
Retailers can negotiate a metering coordinator agreement with Powermetric under which Powermetric will look after all metering services, including metering and data provision. You will have a Powermetric account manager appointed to take care of you and your customers' smart metering needs.

Embedded Networks
Embedded network providers can negotiate a tailored metering services agreement with Powermetric under which Powermetric will provide all the necessary tools to deliver a quality metering solution to embedded network customers. Embedded network providers will have a dedicated Powermetric account manager appointed to take care of all their needs.

2. Technical Consulting

Powermetric can provide technical advice to customers with greenfields (new) sites to ensure that when it comes time to connect to the network, the metering installation will meet the relevant regulatory and network operator requirements.

3. Installation & Commissioning

A convenient installation date will be chosen to minimise interruptions to you or your customer’s business. Some sites may require a power outage for meter installation. Should an outage be required, advance notice will be given and the whole operation generally takes less than 20 minutes.
Following installation, commissioning checks ensure the continued accuracy of the metering system.

4. Reading & Data Services

Once a meter is installed, our regulated meter data service includes meter reading daily, meter data validation and then sending the meter data to relevant market participants for the purpose of market settlement. Powermetric also offers meter data via other channels as a negotiated service.

5. Maintenance

All Powermetric metering installations are managed by Powermetric and maintained by licensed and accredited contractors in accordance with the National Electricity Rules and regulatory requirements.
