Our Difference

The way the National Electricity Market (NEM) and electricity retailers will settle their purchasing and selling electricity is changing.

What is changing?

The national electricity market operator currently settles its accounts in half hour (30 minute) periods. As of 1 October 2021, most commercial and industrial accounts will be settled in 5 minute intervals, which will align with the process for scheduling generator dispatch.

How does this affect you and what do you need to do in preparation for this change?

  • If you currently utilise Powermetric’s online portal, this data will still be available via all existing reports and aggregate options. The only change will be the ability to select 5 minute interval data when generating reports.
  • If you currently receive meter data directly from Powermetric, via FTP or email, then this data will change from 15 minute data to 5 minute interval data. You should start planning for this change.
