Frequently asked questions

What type of meter will I need?

Your meter type will depend on your energy usage and the connection at the site. Our team of dedicated experts can review your building’s requirements and determine which meter is required.

Why would I want to get a new meter?

If you were wasting thousands of dollars in electricity every year, wouldn’t you want to know about it? Our meters provide timely and accurate information about your energy usage, which is easily accessed using our Energy Profiler portal.

When you know what you’re using, you can make informed decisions about how to improve your energy efficiency.

How much will it cost?

Prices vary depending on the type of meter required, how many you need, and the extent of any value added services such as access to our Energy Profiler and demand alerting services. Call us on 1800 799 992 for a no-obligation quote tailored to your business.

Will I lose power?

Installing a new meter will not interrupt your business. In most instances we don’t even have to disconnect your power and if we do, we organise a time with you that suits your business needs. We install and connect your new meter and ensure the connection is working with your retailer. No need to interrupt your business.

Who owns the meter?

All meters and metering equipment supplied remain the property of Powermetric.

Why would I need a Direct Metering Agreement (DMA)?

Direct Metering Agreements or DMAs provide security and peace of mind. Regardless of who your electricity retailer is, if you have a DMA you can be assured that there is continuity in the reading, validation and delivery of your meter data. In addition, all Powermetric customers can choose to subscribe to Energy Profiler, our online portal where you can access your meter data 24/7.

How do I get a DMA?

To enquire about a DMA, just call our dedicated team on 1800 799 992 for a no-obligation quote.

Can I choose when the meter will be installed?

Absolutely. Our expert technicians coordinate all meter installations with the customer for a time and date that is suitable to you.
